Hoje, a partir das 22h30, o SBT transmite, ao vivo, com exclusividade na TV aberta, a 63ª edição do Globo de Ouro. A apresentação será de Analice Nicolau e do crítico de cinema Rubens Ewald Filho.
O Globo de Ouro, segunda maior premiação do cinema mundial, é considerado uma "prévia" do Oscar. O evento, que acontece em Beverly Hills, California, possui 24 categorias, sendo 13 para cinema e 11 para televisão.
Em 2005, um dos destaques é o filme "O Jardineiro Fiel", dirigido pelo brasileiro Fernando Meirelles, indicado em três categorias: melhor filme (drama), melhor atriz Coadjuvante" (Rachel Weisz) e melhor diretor.
A produção com maior número de indicações é "Brokeback Mountain", dirigido por Ang Lee, que concorre em sete categorias, entre elas melhor drama, melhor diretor, melhor roteiro, melhor ator (Heath Ledger) e melhor atriz coadjuvante (Michelle Williams).
